MWII’s big standout moment in the campaign, was a quick excursion to one of Amsteram’’s most famous locations.
My last assignment before leaving Infinity Ward, was perhaps the greatest. I had to model and texture a 1to1 recreation of Oude Kerk in Amsterdam. All the dimensions are near perfect and set up to work inside Call of Duty’s game engine. As I developed the building, I put together a massive catalogue of each individually architectural component that we then sent a photo scanning team to Amsterdam to capture. After I received the data, I along with a team of outsourcers that I guided along, transferred the scanned detail to all the individual architecture models I made for the church.
This is a photo I took of Oude Kerk when I visited the site in real life, and it is near identical with the virtual model I built for Call of Duty.
