Lotus 2023 VALORANT Map
In Lotus, the VALORANT narrative brings players to an ancient and magical Indian temple. Its a beautifal site that soon devolves into chaos as the players must fight each other for control of the ancient relics and magic here.
The architectural designs I developed for this map were based on ancient temple architecture out of India. Much of the ornate detail that Indian architecture is known for was stripped down to simplified forms that better fit the gameplay needs of VALORANT’s competitive map design. Level designers requested that the art which rests at a player’s eye level be heavily simplified as to not distract gamers from shooting their enemies. Color tone and style were then further romanticized to meet VALORANT’s specific look.
